SAMPLE PROJECT DOCUMENTATION
INTRODUCTION
This should clearly define the creative problem that was given to you to solve and should provide a broad overview or summary of the entire project.
MATERIALS:
This section details the materials (Hardware, Software and Conventional media) that were used to create the project prototypes and final assets.
CREATIVE PROCESS:
This details What your main concept/idea is and the process of HOW you came up with, researched, nurtured and expressed that idea. Supporting research and prototypes like thumbnails would go here.
PRODUCTION METHODS/WORKFLOW:
This should detail how you created the FINAL piece of work. It should contain the technical details of how things were prepared and made including the steps of production arranged in their proper order. Every effort should be made to use the the proper terminology for tools and techniques used. FLOWCHARTS are a very effective way of showing how key steps in the production process are connected.
In the case of digital production you should use SCREENGRABS (Created on a Mac using COMMAND—SHIFT—4 and dragging around the area you wish to capture) to document the KEY STEPS in the production process.
The visual shown at the bottom of this page under VISUAL SUPPORT is an example of of a screengrab being used to document a KEY STEP in the creation of a pattern using the PATTERN MAKER. NOTE THE CAPTION BELOW THE IMAGE.
CONCLUSION:
This should summarize your overall learning from doing the project. Consider what the take-aways were for you. What were the biggest hurdles for you to overcome? What surprised you about the project? What breakthroughs or personal victories did you achieve in doing it? What would you do differently if you had an opportunity to do it all over again? What TIPS or ADVICE would you give others attempting something similar?
VISUAL SUPPORT:
Your project should be adequately supported by good quality images that aren't over-sized (use IMAGE—IMAGE SIZE to reduce the overall dimensions to around 5 inches in width at 72ppi in Photoshop). Images should have proper captions using the ADD CAPTION function (made available by clicking on the pencil EDIT tool when you hover over an image placed in Behance).
Your final project should be represented using high quality photographs or screengrabs. Make sure that you take good quality photographs and POST PROCESS images that may be of sub-par quality (containing shadow casts, poor contrast, lighting, colour, etc.). Use the FINAL ARTWORK as the COVER art.
Captions are added to summarize what the viewer is looking at. It should help them to understand what the content of the image is and why it is important to the larger story being told.
